Audrey Umurerwa Gatera

Audrey Umurerwa Gatera is a junior in Pauli Murray College at Yale University, majoring in Environmental Engineering and pursuing a certificate in Advanced French. Originally from Kigali, Rwanda, Audrey is passionate about energy equity and sustainable innovation. She is currently part of the Kwabi Lab team, where she contributes to research focused on developing affordable redox flow cell batteries for grid-scale solar energy storage and carbon capture.

Beyond the classroom, Audrey is deeply engaged in green innovation. She is a co-founder of SLTBLX, a student-led venture supported by the Tsai Center for Innovative Thinking at Yale. Her leadership extends to the Yale Model African Union, where she served as the Director General of Operations , the 2024 conference held in Nairobi, Kenya. Audrey also finds joy in creative expression, she is a dancer with Dzana, Yale’s Afro-fusion dance team.
